Decotech code of conduct
Theft & Fraud
Proscriptions against theft are as old as Genesis. Don’t take something that doesn’t belong to you without permission. This includes, among other things, physical items, electronic information, intellectual capital, and proprietary information that belongs to someone else.
Fraud comes in many forms but always involves dishonesty. When a Company employee steals or commits fraud, our reputation is harmed and we are all affected. Any type of theft, fraud, embezzlement or misappropriation of property, money, or services, including that any of Decotech’s employees, suppliers, or customers is strictly prohibited.
Conflict of Interest
Any conflict of interest, or the appearance of a conflict of interest, by a Decotech employee is prohibited. A conflict of interest arises in one of two ways:
- When your personal activities and relationships interfere with your ability to act in the best interest of the Company.
- When you are in a position to derive personal benefit from business decisions made in your official capacity.
Nothing you do at work or at home should conflict with your responsibilities at Decotech or hurt Decotech’s reputation or good name. Even just the appearance of a conflict can have negative effects. It is crucial to consider how your actions might appear, and to avoid the perception of a conflict of interest even when none is intended.
Bribery, Gifts, Favors & Other Payments
Do not accept anything from business associates that would affect your impartiality, fairness or detachment, and, of course, never accept a bribe or kickback of any sort in exchange for anticipated behavior on your part. Any employee who does so hurts Decotech and violates the law. Decotech expressly prohibits improper payments in all business dealings, in every country around the world, with both governments and the private sector.
Reasonable and customary personal gifts based solely on family or personal relationships apart from any business relationship are acceptable, as long as the gift is not intended to improperly influence business with Decotech, a business partner, or a government entity.
Compliance with Laws & Fair Dealing
Decotech employees must comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations of the places in which we do business. All Company employees must deal competitively and fairly with others and may not obtain unfair advantage over competitors, suppliers, or customers through deception, misrepresentation, or abuse of confidential information.Harassment & Discrimination

No Retaliation
Retaliation is prohibited against any employee who reports, in good faith, a suspected violation of law or policy or who participates in any investigation of a suspected violation. Decotech employees must strive to follow and support the Decotech Environmental Policy as well as provide a safe and healthy work environment by following safety and health rules and practices and promptly reporting accidents, injuries and unsafe equipment, practices or conditions.
Agents, Consultants & Professional Services
When conducting business with, or for, Decotech, all agents, distributors, consultants, representatives, attorneys, independent contractors, external temporary workers and suppliers are expected to observe the same standards of conduct as Decotech employees.
Neither may any Company employee indirectly, through such business relationships, do anything the employee is prohibited from doing under Decotech policy.
Company Confidential Information, Ideas, & Intellectual Property
Decotech employees are expected to protect the Company’s confidential information at all times, including outside of the office and after working hours, and even after employment ends.
Company confidential information includes, but is not limited to: contracts, pricing information, marketing plans, technical specifications, employee information, strategic plans, sales figures, financial information, product designs, information regarding negotiations, agreements or dealings between Decotech and others, human resources information, software, trade secrets, patents, trademarks, and similar information from customers or suppliers. Decotech owns this information.
Disclosure by a Decotech employee of any confidential Company information would reduce our competitive advantage, devalue our efforts and could result in severe damage to Decotech. If the need arises in which we have a need to share Proprietary or Confidential information it with a supplier, customer, or contractor, for example, we must ask them to sign confidentiality or non-disclosure agreements before revealing the information.
Be aware also that Company employees should not permit any of Decotech’s non-public, proprietary or confidential information to enter the public domain through electronic transmissions.
Accurate Records & Reports
All Decotech employees must ensure the accuracy of all Company business records including not only financial accounts, but other records such as quality reports, shipping and receiving paperwork, time records, expense reports and submissions such as benefits claim forms. Decotech employees must be fair and accurate in all our records and reports.Dealing with Customers & Suppliers
The Company values its partnerships with customers, suppliers and consumers. Treat these partners in the same manner we expect to be treated.
Always deal fairly with customers, suppliers and consumers, treating them honestly and with respect:
- Do not engage in unfair, deceptive or misleading practices.
- Always present Company products in an honest and forthright manner.
- Do not offer, promise or provide anything to a client or supplier in exchange for an inappropriate advantage for the Company.
Decotech expects that our suppliers will take no action contrary to the principles of our Code of Conduct.
